The Friendly Guide to Day Trips From The Ranch
One of the best parts of living in South Orange County is how much sits a short drive away. This post is the written companion to one of Grant's Orange County Living videos, embedded below, about the day trips that make The Ranch a great home base.
The coast is a short drive down the hill
The Ranch is roughly five or six miles from the nearest beaches. Mission San Juan Capistrano, the Jewel of the Missions, is a five-minute drive down Camino Capistrano, Dana Point Harbor and San Clemente are 15 to 25 minutes south, and the Bluff Top Trail in Dana Point adds an ocean-view walk whenever you want salt air.
The gift of living out here is that a good Saturday can hold a ranch morning and a beach afternoon in the same day. Pick the anchorage, pack the chairs, and let the coast do the rest.
Ask a resident one question when you visit: what do you do here on a Saturday?
