Making the Most of Commutes and Day-to-Day Getting Around
Where you live in South Orange County shows up in the rearview mirror every day, so the commute deserves honest math. This post is the written companion to one of Grant's Orange County Living videos, embedded below, about getting around The Ranch.
The drive, honestly measured
The Ranch sits northeast of San Juan Capistrano near Ortega Highway (CA-74), with easy connections to I-5 and the 241 toll road. Sendero Marketplace covers most errands, Ladera Ranch and San Juan Capistrano add shopping minutes away, and John Wayne Airport is a straight shot up I-5 for the travel weeks.
Drive the route at the hour you will actually drive it, because a map lies and rush hour never does. Neighborhoods that score perfectly on paper can lose a little shine at 7:45 a.m., and the opposite is true too.
Re-watch the tour once for the homes and once for the streets.
