The Nature Reserve is the wild heart of The Ranch, and Grant's Orange County Living channel has wandered it more than once. This post is the written companion to one of those videos, embedded below, about the open space that surrounds the villages.
Seventeen thousand acres of wild next door
The Nature Reserve is the wild heart of The Ranch: preservation programs, guided hikes, and the Gato Road walk past a 500-year-old oak, all just beyond the villages. Rienda sits beside historic Cow Camp at the reserve's edge, so its trailheads are effectively out the back gate.
A community that keeps most of its land wild is a community that will feel different twenty years from now, and that is the point. Book a guided hike, bring the kids, and let the place make its own argument.
Tours are for shortlisting; the front door is for deciding.
